Buy Tesla with Bitcoin says Elon Musk
Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has told his customers that now they can purchase their cars via Bitcoin.
On his Twitter, Elon Musk uncovers this through his Twitter handle. Previously, Tesla had made a purchase of $1.5B worth of BTC.
Mr. CEO announced that they only accept payments in Bitcoin for US residents which will be extended to customers in other countries this year. Here are his tweets:
Mr. Musk also said that:
"You can now buy a Tesla with Bitcoin. Tesla is using only internal & open source software & operates Bitcoin nodes directly.” He went on by saying in another tweet that “Bitcoin paid to Tesla will be retained as Bitcoin, not converted to fiat currency.”
This kind of support from a giant company and a highly influential person like Elon Musk is somehow changing the use case of cryptocurrency which has already been influential on its price. For instance, when you buy an actual can with Bitcoin, it helps trust cryptocurrencies even more and promotes them. In this regard, Michael Saylor who is the CEO of Microstrategy believes that Tesla is de-risking purchasing of Bitcoin:
“Tesla $TSLA has de-risked the acquisition of #bitcoin by public companies and accelerated the digital transformation of corporate balance sheets. Treasurers are now thinking about how to convert a non-performing asset into the best performing asset,”
